THE ECO FOUNDATION
The Education Culture Opportunities

FAQ’s
The ECO Foundation primarily serves Black and Brown youth, young adults, and families in Philadelphia, with a focus on individuals from under-resourced communities. Our programs support participants ages 8 through 24, as well as families experiencing food insecurity and educators seeking culturally relevant learning and wellness support.
ECO centers the people most impacted by systemic inequities as leaders in the solution. Youth are paid to learn, serve, and lead through workforce development, food distribution, and community programming. Our model combines creative education, real-world experience, and holistic support to address immediate needs while building long-term stability.
Many ECO programs are free to community members, including food access initiatives and open community events. Youth and young adults participating in workforce and leadership programs such as Young BUL and OL HEAD are paid for their time and contributions, recognizing their labor and leadership.
Community members can get involved by enrolling in programs, attending community meals or events, volunteering, or partnering with ECO as an educator, organization, or funder. Supporters can also contribute by donating to help sustain youth stipends, food access, and programming.
ECO tracks impact through both quantitative and qualitative measures, including the number of participants served, bags of food distributed, certifications earned, and paid opportunities created. We also gather ongoing feedback from youth, families, and partners to continuously improve our programs and remain accountable to the community we serve.
